About Us
The Frostee was opened in June 1956 by Bill and
Bobby June Rutherford. They offered
hamburgers, fries, and shakes. They patted out
their hamburger patties, sliced their own fries and
made yummy milkshakes. You could order from
your car and a car hop,or curb girl, would bring
your order out to you. Bill and Bobby June sold
the business to Jerry and Martha Sowder in
September 1978. They ran the Frostee together
until November 1986 when Jerry passed away.
Martha has ran the Frostee by herself until her
daughters, Cari Anne and Beth, came to her aide
in 2003. Martha continues to come to work every
day and makes sure that the Frostee continues to
serve Claiborne county the best the Frostee has
to offer.
